Sr. Email Marketing Manager: Palo Alto, CA

Our client is seeking a Sr. Email Marketing Manager to lead email acquisition marketing program.  In this role, you'll develop and execute email funnel strategy, develop appropriate messaging in partnership with the creative team and drive members through the acquisition funnel to subscribe. Responsibilities:

  • Develop email funnel strategy and behavioral markers that define progression through the funnel from awareness through subscription sign-up
  • Develop segmentation strategies to customize email messaging to users based on behavioral data and email engagement data
  • Optimize content based on email engagement metrics and funnel success metrics
  • Track program performance across funnel position, email address age, ESP, and creative type
  • Develop monthly forecasting process and participate in subscription forecast process
  • Leverage A/B tests of subject lines, message content, images, offers, landing pages, and mailing frequency to improve core program metrics
  • Understand email deliverability and refine program to maximize subscribers and funnel engagement metrics while continuously striving to improve and maintain deliverability across ESPs
  • Partner with Creative teams to create compelling and effective email content
  • Leverage consumer research and analytical models to understand the customer and craft appropriate messaging to reach program goals
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Social, and PR team members to execute integrated cross-channel campaigns
  • Keep up with email industry trends (including technological enhancements, ISP developments, and email legislation) and implement solutions to enhance email program

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on B2C email marketing experience required
  • BA/BS degree required
  • Successful track-record developing email marketing programs, executing, measuring, and delivering on performance targets
  • Experience developing segmentation strategies based on audience data and email engagement data
  • Strong project management skills including: conceptualization, driving alignment, planning resources, managing deadlines and objectives, delivering analysis and recommendations
  • Experience with email deliverability including inbox placement measurement as well as optimizing performance and ramping up new IPs
  • Experience executing and analyzing A/B or multi-variate tests. Comfortable in a rapid test & learn environment
  • Ability to form cross-functional relationships with the entire organization, particularly product development. This requires a collaborative spirit, compatible with company culture
  • Highly motivated and high level of initiative
  • Inspire confidence to work independently and in support of team goals and business objectives
  • Exceptional Excel, data analysis, and data manipulation skills
  • Experience with SQL, Statistics and R a plus
