SEO Product Director: San Francisco, CA

Our client is looking for an experienced Search Engine Optimization (SEO) professional to form their organic search strategy, devise a product strategy that aligns with it, and lead an engineering team to execute upon it. The ideal candidate is a data-driven self-starter with a deep technical understanding of the organic search market, who can play a high profile role within an organization where SEO is a critical channel for the business. This position reports into the Product team.

Responsibilities:
•Own the overall organic search strategy with an effective balance between the technical needs of search engine bots and the functional needs of users
•Manage the SEO feature prioritization process, with a mind for testing and iteration to drive organic search growth, to develop an SEO product roadmap
•Lead a dedicated engineering team to test and implement roadmap features
•Perform regular site audits, comprehensive keyword research, inbound link generation, content generation, and competitive analysis
•Define metrics, setup and maintain dashboards to monitor KPIs, and provide regular reporting to key stakeholders on efforts, learnings and recommendations

Requirements:
•10+ years of direct technical SEO experience launching, measuring, and scaling initiatives to increase organic traffic
•Proven track record of successfully managing a search index of millions of pages
•Specific experience in affiliate marketing space managing content from advertisers that could be considered duplicative by search engines
•Ability to play a product manager role and lead a manage and lead a product development team
•Experience managing SEO programs for both English and non-English targeted sites
•Excellent communicator whether collaborating with engineering or presenting to executive team
•Thorough knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript.
•Strong background in web analytics (GA, Adobe Analytics)
•Deep understanding of Mobile SEO (Responsive, Progressive, AMP)
•Thorough knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript and Angular
•Strong Excel, SQL and data analysis skills and proficiency with SEO tools such as GA, Search Console, Moz and Ahrefs
•Innovative thinker as it relates to search technology and search industry changes, developing deep knowledge of desktop, mobile, image and social search
