Associate Director, Social and Content: Long Island City, NY

Responsibilities:

  • Develop editorial strategy and calendar for blog and video as well as social channels with fashion editorial consultant, internal merchandising and content teams that engages prospects and members
  • Work closely with Marketing Director to own the strategy, direction and tone of voice across all of the core social and editorial channels
  • Generate more engagement with/from users across all platforms
  • Grow fans/followers base and hence viral spread
  • Support and amplify campaigns executed through other channels
  • Develop and execute community management plan to improve interactions, CS and goodwill with consumers across social channels
  • Maximize contribution from affiliate/influencer channels through publisher and partner expansion
  • Maximize usage of influencers across social and edit to engage prospects and members
  • Develop effective, integrated cross-channel campaigns
  • Develop and track content and social KPIs
  • Develop optimization plans to improve key metrics including engagement metrics as well as new user activity and member retention
  • Contribute to the company’s overall brand strategy in line with company goals, designed to grow revenues and drive all aspects of the business plan. This will include campaigns and promotional programs designed to strengthen the company’s brand awareness and customer relationships
  • Identify and leverage consumer insights – translating key insights into business building ideas focused on key target segments. Use data, consumer insights, and business intuition to develop break-through marketing ideas/programs
  • Manage a team of 4 direct reports, 6 total reports 

 Requirements:

  • Experience: 5+ years of social and editorial strategy and content production experience. Some PR experience required, ideally with a fashion or lifestyle brand
  • Education: BA/BS degree required, MBA preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal format
  • Strong understanding of user-generated content management, content marketing and reputation management
  • Strategic content creation and excellent writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong project management skills including: conceptualization; analysis; driving alignment; planning resources; managing milestones and meeting objectives
  • Experience leveraging data driven research/analysis to drive strategic direction and optimize programs
  • Must have strong consumer understanding skills -- ability to translate customer insights into PR and marketing programs and a high degree of creativity to find new, compelling ways to reach and communicate with consumers
  • Ability to form cross-functional relationships with the entire organization, particularly product development. This requires a collaborative spirit, compatible with company culture
  • Experience managing staff, collaborating with creative and analytics teams
  • Highly motivated and high level of initiative; inspires confidence to work independently and in support of department goals and business objectives
  • Strong analytics and computer skills (MS Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communicator and writer
