Chief Operating Officer: Buffalo, NY

Our client, the premiere multi-specialty physician-owned anatomical pathology lab with related ancillary clinical testing in WNY has an outstanding opportunity for a dynamic and accomplished leader with a proven track record of success.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, this position is a key member of the Group's Leadership Team; responsible for the overall success of the general operations of the organization. The person should have exceptional communications skills. The person will confer with staff, physicians, managers as necessary to gain knowledge of specific work situations requiring employees to better understand improvements and changes in policies, procedures, regulations and technologies.
• The duties include managing the daily operations of multiple levels of functions, facility utilization and staff at multiple locations.
• Coordinates the assessment of office workflow and /or department workflow and makes recommendations for improvement and gained efficiency
• The person will work with the boards to develop long-range strategic plans, organizational structure and oversee company objectives.
• Interprets policies and objectives for medical and ancillary services and ensures their implementation. Analyzes and recommends changes in organizational policies and procedures in compliance with the mission and vision of delivering high quality patient focus health care.
• The person will also oversee and coordinate with IT Technology (and should have familiarity or an ability to understand a variety of medical software), Purchasing, Human Resources and Medical Billing.
• The person will also be responsible for all outside vendor contract negotiation and renewals.
• The candidate will work with the group’s medical director, president and boards regarding hourly and salary scales for all employees and the pay for performance payouts for the administrative, customer service, lab technicians, and driver personnel.
• Employs discretion and sensitivity with confidential information.
• Be able to interact with a variety of outside parties with reference to health related rules and regulations.

Qualifications:
A results orientated servant-leader with proven success in achieving organizational efficiencies, decreased costs, and increased revenue and profitability. BS Degree in an appropriately related field. A Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration, MBA or appropriately related field highly desirable. 10+ years of experience in healthcare management, operations and general business practices; a solid technical and financial background; knowledge and proven success working with Physicians and professional staff in a clinical environment and or medical practice. Excellent oral and written communications skills are required.

Compensation:
Salary in the $80,000 to $100,000 range commensurate with education and experience + excellent benefits.
