Sr. Analyst Strategic Planning: Los Angeles, CA Area
Our client, a multi-channel retailer, seeks an experience Senior Strategic Planning Analyst with a concentration on statistical modeling for their Westlake Village, CA offices. Reporting to the VP of Finance and Corporate Treasury this position is responsible for supporting SPG analysis activities for the company enterprise wide. This individual must be a strategic thinker who can recognize and leverage business opportunities to develop strategic initiatives designed to increase profitability. This individual is then accountable for designing the analytical framework for solving the problem, using SQL programming skills to extract the proper data from a variety of systems, developing data models, performing statistical analysis, solving the business problem, making recommendations and presenting findings.
Responsibility:
This position has a "hands-on" programming requirement, a leadership requirement, and also requires strategic thinking and strong communication and interpersonal skills. This individual is accountable for making strategic and tactical recommendations and providing analysis that improves profitability. It is essential that Senior Management across the enterprise value the recommendations. Will act as the analytical and technical lead who designs the analysis and performs or delegates the programming or data mining required to fulfill the internal client’s requirements. As a strategic thinker, you will interprets the analysis into meaningful, actionable recommendations. Then as both the Account Executive and Subject Matter Expert, you will make recommendations to Senior Management. The information, analysis, leadership, and recommendations of this candidate are critical to business decision making and to the growth of the company business enterprise wide.
Qualifications:
Include BS degree and a minimum of 5+ years experience in business analysis, data analysis, statistical modeling, computer programming, data mining, financial modeling, marketing, finance, information technology. Strom Computing Skills in SQL, SAS, MS Access. Advanced MS Office experience (MS Excel, Word, Power Point). Proven effectiveness in project management and delivery. Ability to develop relationships throughout the company leadership including the executive level. Must be a team player. Related experience with applying advanced statistical techniques and data mining techniques. Self-starter with a willingness to produce results for all levels of the organization up to and including senior management Demonstrated ability to support complex projects. Proven effectiveness as a problem solver with elegant, clever, workable solutions that have practical applications.
Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree in Business, MIS, Finance, Statistics, or Economics. Power User/Developer level experience with MicroStrategy (or comparable BI/OLAP), Visual Basic.
