Director of Marketing, Health Services: Chicago
Large multi-channel retailer seeks a talented marketing professional to lead the strategic transformation of its emerging growth businesses in the health services marketing unit. This individual will lead product marketing aligned with four business units within the pharmaceutical division.
Responsibilities:
This position will drive healthcare practitioner and consumer demand for pharmacy healthcare services by developing innovative and sustainable marketing programs. Develop and implement successful short- and long-term marketing plans that include advertising, sales materials, brand building, communications, promotional events, online programs and customer relationship management. Lead creation and implementation of competitively advantaged marketing strategy to drive acquisition and retention. Provide marketing expertise, market trend insights and strong industry knowledge to partner with business unit leaders in support of the Company's goals. Determine how to apply, refine and grow market share in key customer and channel segments. Be a customer advocate and identify actionable ways to use consumer insights to improve the patient experience along with loyalty and satisfaction. Promote clinical expertise, prescription and treatment adherence, and positive health outcomes that demonstrate the ability to lower total medical costs. Participate in and provide expert advice in the development of product and service plans that ensure an integrated portfolio solution. Apply financial discipline in managing budgets, measuring return on investment (ROI), influencing pricing strategy and building business cases.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications include BS/BA Degree with a 8+ years experience in Strategic or Product Marketing. Minimum of 5+ years experience in healthcare with an emphasis on chronic medical conditions (e.g., oncology, bleeding disorders, HIV, diabetes, heart disease). Additionally, 5+ years B2B marketing experience with an emphasis on at least two of the following channels: health plans, hospital/health systems, pharmacy benefit management (PBM), large employers and/or public sector. Must have 5+ years marketing to healthcare practitioner referral sources such as physicians, nurses or hospital discharge planners, 3+ years direct-to-consumer marketing experience and 2+ years customer segmentation experience. Experience communicating both verbally (on phone, one-on-one, to groups) and in writing (emails, letters, reports, presentations) to various audiences (work group, team, company management, executives, external clients).
Experience building and maintaining relationships within a team required. Need someone with an emphasis on referral source (physician, nurse) marketing & consumer marketing rather than B2B. Prefer someone with more involvement in therapy management than insurance benefits.
Additional preferred experience includes 5+ years in a marketing role, supporting a national, regionally-distributed sales force. Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., presentation templates, slide animation, HTML, pivot tables). Experience with privacy, legal and regulatory guidelines. Exposure to government programs such as 340b, Medicare or Medicaid. Experience working in a mid (20K employees) to large (50K employees) sized organization.
