Corporate Process Engineer: Buffalo, NY
Expanding manufacturing client needs a chemical engineer for process development and capital projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Successfully develops & executes multiple capital projects supporting new products, operating efficiency improvements and responsible facility management at any of the company's facilities.
* Designs processing, batching, thermal processing, refrigeration, bottling, CIP & utility systems, evaluates alternatives, selects & sizes equipment, develops estimates, and ensures regulatory compliance.
* Develops process flow, piping and equipment layout drawings, construction packages, manages construction, controls schedule and cost within project timeline and budget, and provides clear and concise analysis and reporting.
* Initiates appropriation requests, purchase orders, and contracts as required.
* Ensures that all designs and activities comply with all applicable codes, regulations and standards and maintains company drawings and technical records.
* Works with Product Development to ensure best fit between existing processes and new products; provides leadership in scaling up products for commercial production.
* Identifies opportunities to improve plant performance, product quality and employee welfare, provides leadership in developing and implementing practical solutions, and participates in long-range capital planning.
* Provides technical support for the operation, maintenance and improvement of processing equipment, production lines, utilities, and buildings.
* Works in a team environment to support company objectives, initiatives and policies.
* Responsibilities may also include unexpected job duties as required by business needs. You will be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
Education, Experience & Skill Set Required:
BS Engineering, preferably Chemical
A minimum of 5 years Process Engineering experience.
Minimum of 3 years in Food Processing, including Thermal Processes
Experience in Capital Project Management, Environmental, and Regulatory are plusses
Experience in bottling and packaging are pluses
AutoCAD & MS Project skills desired
Ability to travel domestically 30-40% of the time, including occasional weekends
Confidentiality a must.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
High degree of accuracy required.
Occasional travel on an as-needed basis / when company needs require.
Compensation:
Salary in the $80,000 to $85,000 range commensurate with education and experience. Full company benefits offered.
