Senior Electrical Engineer
Description of Position and Function:
This position is responsible for the analysis and design of control algorithms and motor control electronics. The incumbent is expected to assume a lead technical role in: trade study analyses, requirements definition, architecture definition, product design and performance testing. The incumbent will work directly with customers throughout all phases of a project. Products are developed for the North American and International Industrial Controls marketplace. The position will report to the Manager of Controls and Electronics.
Scope/Analysis:
· Requirements definition, collaborating with internal staff and customers.
· Trade studies of brushless motor controller concepts.
· Mathworks simulation of control algorithms and power electronic circuits.
· Comparative analysis of simulation and test data.
Design and Test:
· Control algorithm design.
· Power electronics design.
· Develop product performance qualification tests.
· Formal documentation of designs, analyses and test results following internal configuration management procedures.
Qualifications:
The incumbent must have a strong background in digital control algorithms and power electronic analysis and design, both from a theoretical and practical standpoint. An MSEE degree with 5 years of experience is preferred with a concentration in the key areas. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Travel, including international, is required.
