Senior Accountant: Chicago, IL

Our client, and excellent expanding company based in a Chicago suburb is looking for a senior accountant. 

The Senior Accountant is responsible for generating various financial reports focusing on domestic and international subsidiaries in a fast pace environment. The Senior Accountant is expected to research, create tools, and make recommendations for improved reporting and processes within the Finance department.

Responsibilities:

Record financial transactions for month/quarter-end close process, including bank reconciliations, and journal entries. Review and monitor A/P and A/R activity.
Perform monthly analyses, account reconciliations, and variance analysis in support of the financial statements
Provide full-cycle account reporting for select foreign and domestic subsidiaries including but not limited to, auditing and financial statement analysis
Communicate with external accounting firms in audit and preparation of financial results
Audit Global intercompany transfer-pricing and related activity
Review and audit financial statements of select domestic and international subsidiaries that will involve a high volume of foreign currency translation
Prepare any necessary financial reports requested by management and special projects as required by management
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects as required by Senior Management
Support other team members as needed


Qualifications:

SAP software experience; International experience (Ideally Brazil/Colombia)
3- 5 years experience ideal.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
General Ledger/Financial Statement experience a must
Advanced Excel a must
Multiple accounting software experience a plus
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and workflow concurrently
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work with constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
Willingness to work longer hours to meet critical deadlines as needed
Acute attention to detail
Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels
Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions

Compensation:
Salary range $60-$70,000 range plus excellent benefits.
