Chief Financial Officer: Albion, NY

The candidate best suited for this position should have extensive accounting and operations experience. In addition to daily accounting responsibilities (payroll, AR & AP), there will be a number of assignments and responsibilities related to operations, inventory management, maintaining company’s written policies/procedures, and HR/Benefits. In addition, the person in this position will manage and oversee the merger or cross-utilization of two separate ERPs and help to facilitate the successful merger of two separate organizations, recently acquired by a new parent. 

The CFO position is accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company, to include the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve and safeguard company assets (including inventory) and report accurate financial results. Principal accountabilities are:
1. Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
2. Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans
3. Develop financial and tax strategies
4. Manage the capital request and budgeting processes
5. Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction
1. Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
2. Manage the accounting, human resources, investor relations, legal and tax strategy.
3. Oversee the financial operations of two separate entities that are in the process of merging.
4. Manage any third parties to which functions have been outsourced
5. Merge two separate ERPs into one, or develop a program to manage both ERPs individually.
6. Implement operational best practices
7. Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package
8. Supervise acquisition due diligence and negotiate acquisitions
9. Oversee inventory management processes by developing ordering systems and inventory flow.
Financial Information
1. Oversee the issuance of financial information
2. Report financial results to the board of directors
3. Emphasis on cash flow management in an industry of unpredictable and dramatic cyclicality.
Risk Management
1. Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile
2. Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry
3. Construct and monitor reliable control systems
4. Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
5. Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
6. Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
7. Report risk issues to the audit committee of the board of directors
Third Parties
1. Participate in conference calls with the investment board
2. Maintain relationship with investment company.
3. Represent the company with key vendors and potential investors.

The candidate chief financial officer should have a master's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation. Should have experience in partnering with an executive team, and have a high level of written and oral communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with an MBA in Finance and the Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations.
Additional Qualifications: A well-balanced individual. Willing to travel up to 50% initially, with an expectation of 10-20% travel long-term.
Working Conditions: Will work in an office environment headquartered in Albion, NY. Extensive travel to company subsidiaries will be necessary.  Supervises: Senior Finance Associate, AP/AR Associate
